Is there another way, besides UPSC CSE, can someone enter IPS?

At present, there are three recruitment modes to Indian police services. These are as follows:

Through the Civil Service Exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

Through a limited competitive examination carried out by the Union Public Service Commission (very rarely done).

Through the appointment of state police service officers with promotion (with promotion from state police).

As you now know, some state police officers get promotion will be given by IPS. However, to get IPS on this route, it needs a lot of experience and a very good track record. Instead, the recruits directly get IPS at a young age if he cleans up the UPSC Civil Service Exam.

Civil Service Examination and IPS

Civil Service Examination (CSE) is one of the most popular tests carried out by the Union Public Service Commission. UPSC conducts this exam to recruit candidates to around 24 government services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc.

UPSC CIVIL SERVICES EXAM (CSE) consists of 3 stages. The stages are:

The test window extends around 10-12 months (usually from June in a year until June next year when the results are announced).

Training for Indian police service officers

All Indian police service officers underwent trial training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie and Sardar Vallabhai Patel National National Academy, Hyderabad. After successfully completing the settlement, the officer was confirmed in this service.

Salary IPS: What is the salary of an Indian police service officer?

The Entry-Level IPS officer (ASP Rank) received the basic payment of Rs.56100 while the highest ranking official (DGP) will get Rs.2.25,000. Allowances such as DA, TA etc. are provided other than basic salaries.
